A California lawyer’s constitutional challenges to her disbarment in federal courts were rejected by the Ninth Circuit Tuesday.
Lenore Albert didn’t demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that reciprocal disbarment is inappropriate, the unpublished opinion by the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said. “Because Albert’s arguments are irrelevant, and because of her history of inappropriate behavior and ethical violations,” the district court didn’t abuse its discretion in concluding that the punishment imposed didn’t “result in a grave injustice,” the Ninth Circuit said.
