California Judge Calls on Lawmakers to Tackle Meta Pixel Privacy

A network of eating disorder treatment programs no longer faces a privacy suit in California federal court stemming from its use of Meta Platforms’ Pixel to perform data analytics and targeted advertising.

The court terminated the case against Eating Recovery Center LLC, according to a docket note entered Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, but not before Judge Vince Chhabria called on the state legislature to clarify how the California Invasion of Privacy Act applied to business tools like the Meta Pixel.
