California’s Supreme Court won’t extend the state redistricting commission’s deadline to finish drawing its congressional, state legislative, and Board of Equalization districts despite the commission’s argument that the existing schedule will hamper the public’s ability to critique the maps during the winter holiday season.

The court on Wednesday ordered the California Citizen’s Redistricting Commission to finish its draft maps by Nov. 15 and approve and certify the final maps by no later than Dec. 27.
