California Cities Denied Reconsideration in Water Pollution Suit

Two California cities lost their bid to get a federal judge to reconsider several court orders favoring an environmental group that had claimed the municipalities discharged pollutants in the Bay Area.

The motion for reconsideration Sunnyvale and Mountain View, Calif., filed in the suit brought by the group San Francisco Baykeeper was denied “because the Cities may not collaterally attack the validity of the permit limitations here,” Judge Edward J. Davila ruled Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
