A California National Guard member and two firearms advocacy groups sued Los Angeles and Inglewood, California, on Wednesday over local laws limiting handgun purchases to once a month, claiming the restrictions violate their Second Amendment rights.
Thomas Lopez, the Firearms Policy Coalition, and the California Gun Rights Foundation argue both cities’ “1 in 30" ordinances unconstitutionally restrict law-abiding citizens from buying multiple handguns within 30 days for self-defense and other lawful purposes.
