California Bar Says Lawyer Incited Violence Over Floyd Protests

The California State Bar has initiated disciplinary charges against a Los Angeles lawyer accused of using social media to incite violence against demonstrators at protests in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.

The charges against Marla Anne Brown mark the most recent example of local bar group seeking to hold attorneys who lie or incite violence over political concerns accountable. The move comes almost two years after the South Carolina Supreme Court suspended an attorney for six months after making controversial posts about Floyd on Facebook.
