California Bar Opposes Eastman’s Request to Delay License Trial

California State Bar prosecutors opposed attorney John Eastman’s request to pause a disciplinary case over his alleged role in a conspiracy with then-President Donald Trump to disrupt the electoral count on Jan. 6, 2021.

Eastman asked the State Bar Court of California to abate or stay proceedings pending the resolution of an ongoing federal criminal investigation into the former president, as well as any trial which may result from the inquiry. Trump was indicted Aug. 1 on federal charges over his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
