The California Committee of Bar Examiners recommended Friday that the state’s highest court expand a pre-license program to people who took the poorly administered February 2025 bar exam.
Expanding the Provisional Licensure Program, and thus allowing people to practice the law under the supervision of a practicing attorney, would address in part the fallout from the February sitting—which suffered widespread technical issues and used questions legal experts have criticized. The program would still require approval of the California Supreme Court to take effect.
