California Bar Exam Will Have Option to Test From Out-of-State

Out-of-state applicants will be able to take the California bar exam remotely and at test centers in other states, according to a proposal the state bar approved Friday.

The California State Bar’s Committee of Bar Examiners voted 8 to 3 to approve the proposal, adding that out-of-state tests, which will use the Meazure Learning platform, must be administered at the same time as those in California.

The vote came the day after the California Supreme Court gave the bar the green light to develop a California-specific test, though it didn’t weigh in specifically on the contract with Kaplan NA LLC. ...
