A California law that bans gun and ammunition sales on the Del Mar Fairgrounds doesn’t violate the First Amendment, a federal district court said.
The law was adopted at the behest of Governor Gavin Newsom, who said that allowing firearm sales on state property perpetuates gun culture.
Groups that want to hold gun shows on the fairgrounds said that the shows engage in First Amendment activities and “just happen to include the exchange of products and ideas, knowledge, services, education, entertainment, and recreation related to the lawful use of firearms.” The US District Court for the Southern District of California ...
