California laws banning gun sales at state facilities don’t infringe constitutional protections for free speech or gun rights, a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday.
The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in a consolidated decision addressing separate appeals, rejected gun advocates’ arguments that laws barring the sale of firearms at public facilities in Orange and San Diego counties violated the First Amendment restrictions targeting commercial speech and the US Supreme Court’s ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen.
