An actor who alleged his former counsel was negligent can’t proceed with his suit because it’s time-barred by California’s statute of limitations for malpractice claims, a state appeals court ruled.
A trial court correctly concluded that Mehcad Brooks’ malpractice claims against Rodney Diggs and Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs PLC were untimely filed in October 2020, thus warranting judgment on the pleadings in favor of Diggs and the law firm, the California Court of Appeal for the Second District wrote in an unpublished Tuesday opinion.
