Two brothers who perpetrated the hoax attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett failed to show his lawyer defamed them when talking about the incident on national morning talk shows.
Brothers Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, personal trainers who committed the attack under Smollett’s direction, did not show that attorney Tina Glandian acted with “actual malice,” said Judge Mary M. Rowland with the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, granting summary judgment to Glandian and terminating the case. The brothers “failed to identify any ‘specific evidentiary material’ to support their disputes,” Rowland said.
