Bristol-Myers Squibb Says Money Motivated Texas Plavix Suit

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and three subsidiaries of Sanofi say the potential for a big payday motivated the state of Texas to file a lawsuit last week more than 12 years after initiating, and appearing to close, an investigation into the blood thinner medication Plavix.

That decade-plus delay caused evidence to grow stale and exceeds the two-year limitations that ordinarily apply to deceptive trade practices claims, the pharmaceutical companies said in a lawsuit brought within hours of Texas’.
