Boy Scouts Can Sue California Charity in Texas Over Trademark

Boy Scouts of America defeated an attempt to dismiss its trademark and cybersquatting lawsuit against a California charity after a federal judge in Texas ruled that the charity’s contacts with the state warranted exercising specific personal jurisdiction.

Touch a Life Foundation began offering in 2020 youth organization services and programs under the name TALScouts, which Boy Scouts alleged in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas, infringes its mark.
