Boston Globe Sued By Former President Over Alleged Unpaid Wages

The Boston Globe’s former president, who ended his three-year stint leading the news organization in 2020, claims the company violated the Massachusetts Wage Act by failing to pay his proper commission.

Vinay Mehra is suing Boston Globe Media Partners, alleging the organization did not honor an incentive compensation agreement that entitled him to 5% of the company’s profits beyond $5 million.

“Mr. Mehra diligently carried out his mandate to make the Globe profitable,” and brought in “tens of millions of dollars in profit” over his tenure, he told the Massachusetts’ Suffolk County Superior Court.
