Maelys Cosmetics USA Inc. misleads buyers into thinking its body creams and masks are clinically proven to reduce cellulite and firm up skin but are incapable of doing so, a proposed class action alleged.
The company “declares in its widespread advertising that its Products defy reality, providing benefits of a surgical procedure without any of the surgery or procedure,” the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California alleged. “Such marketing is patently false and misleading and evinces” Maelys’ “gross disdain for the truth.”
