Bondi Sued Over Lowered Bar for Money Service Transfer Reports

A group representing money services businesses sued US Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday, aiming to stop her from enforcing a “misguided” directive on flagging transfers over $200 near the southern border.

The Texas Association of Money Services Businesses says in a complaint that the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network’s March 11 geographic targeting order lowering the transfer threshold violates the Fifth Amendment and the Administrative Procedure Act. The association asked the US District Court for the Western District of Texas to enjoin Bondi from enforcing the order and to declare it invalid.
