Bolthouse Farms Hit With Suit Over PFAS in ‘Natural’ Smoothies

Wm. Bolthouse Farms Inc. was hit with a proposed class suit alleging it deceptively portrays chilled beverages as healthful and nutritious when they contain undisclosed PFAS, or “forever chemicals.”

Gwendolyn Smith says she bought Green Goodness Fruit Juice Smoothie, relying on labeling that touted various nutritional benefits. The label said the smoothie has “no sugar added,” is a good source of antioxidants and vitamins, and includes various healthy ingredients, including nearly three servings of fruit per bottle, Smith alleges.
