BofA Suit Advances Over Nevada Unemployment-Benefits Debit Cards

Bank of America NA must face a proposed class action alleging it engaged in abusive practices related to a prepaid card program that distributed unemployment benefits for Nevada residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, a federal court ruled.

The plaintiffs had standing to bring their suit in federal court and adequately pleaded claims of breach of contract and violations of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and the Nevada Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Judge Anne R. Traum of the US District Court for the District of Nevada said Tuesday.
