A federal jury in Chicago on Wednesday awarded more than $28 million to the estate of a woman killed in a 2019 Ethiopian Airlines crash, the first jury verdict in a slew of lawsuits against Boeing related to the incident.
Attorneys for Boeing and the plaintiffs have agreed the family of Shikha Garg will be paid the verdict plus 26% prejudgment interest, which amounts to about $35.8 million, according to a news release from attorney Shanin Specter of Kline & Specter, which represents the Garg estate.
