Boar’s Head Faces Wrongful Death Suit After Listeria Outbreak

Boar’s Head Provisions Co. Inc. is facing a wrongful death lawsuit tied to its recall of roughly 7 million pounds of meat and poultry products after a Listeria outbreak.

As a result of the company’s alleged negligence and “willful breaches of duties and noncompliance with applicable law and safety regulations,” it sold products that “were not reasonably safe” for consumption. Those actions caused Linda Dorman’s “untimely death,” the complaint, filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, alleges.
