BMW Timing Chain Reimbursement, Warranty Deal Gets Final Nod

BMW of North America Inc. and consumers alleging certain vehicles had flawed timing and oil pump drive chain assemblies won a New Jersey federal court’s final approval for an uncapped class deal that reimburses owners for repairs and provides extended warranties.

The settlement, which gives some owners 100% of repair costs, is fair, reasonable, adequate, and in the best interests of the class, Judge Cathy L. Waldor of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey said in an order entered Wednesday.
