The Trump administration wants to illegally cut funding from a group of blue states unless they stop enforcing certain anti-discrimination provisions in fair-housing laws, according to a complaint filed in federal court Monday.
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development said it would decertify state and local partner agencies from the Fair Housing Assistance Program and cut off funding if the states continue to implement protections against discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, language, criminal records, and source of income.
