Bloomin’, Workers Propose $1.6 Million Wages and Hours Deal

Bloomin’ Brands Inc. and restaurant workers who said they were misclassified as overtime-exempt are seeking court approval of a $1,650,000 settlement to end the litigation, according to a joint motion filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

The proposed settlement would resolve two collective actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act by three named plaintiffs and 236 “opt-in” plaintiffs alleging Bloomin’ owes unpaid wages to misclassified workers at its Bonefish Grill restaurants and Carrabba’s Italian Grill restaurants, the motion says.
