Bleacher Report Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it illegally shared information with Facebook about the sports website subscribers’ video-watching histories in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
Plaintiff Jabari Sellers successfully pleaded that he “request or obtained” videos from the Bleacher Report site, enabling it to track and share that data, despite not having named specific videos he watched, Judge Susan Illston of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said July 28.
