BlackRock Beats Ex-Worker’s Suit Over Alleged Account Monitoring

Investment-management company BlackRock Inc. defeated an ex-employee’s suit alleging it illegally monitored the financial accounts of former employees after they had left the company.

Judge Jed S. Rakoff of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York granted BlackRock’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit in full in a Monday order. An opinion explaining the reasons for the ruling will appear “in due course,” and final judgment will be entered at that time, Rakoff said.
