Black Nuclear Power Worker’s Suit Should Proceed, Judge Says

A Black employee who wanted—and said he hasn’t received—a promotion at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations sufficiently alleged racial discrimination and retaliation claims, a federal magistrate judge said.

Thomas Roddey said he has more than 30 years of experience in military and commercial nuclear power plants, and that his direct supervisor at INPO couldn’t identify a relevant weakness in his values or leadership during a recent evaluation, according to the report and recommendation from Magistrate Judge Walter E. Johnson, of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
