Black Job Applicant Loses Employment Suit Against Robert Half

A Black job applicant in Michigan failed to show that Robert Half International Inc. discriminated against her or retaliated when it didn’t place her in any position with any of its clients, a federal judge said.

Brenda K. Sanders, a woman over the age of 40, alleged that Robert Half violated Title VII and the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, and also intentionally inflicted emotional distress, when it didn’t place her in any of the 73 positions she applied for, mostly “legal secretaries, paralegals, legal assistants, and similar legal positions.” But she failed to establish a prima facie case of ...
