Black GM Renaissance Center Security Officers Advance Class Suit

General Motors LLC, G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., and other entities failed to convince a federal judge to dismiss a class action by Black former security personnel alleging rampant race discrimination at Detroit’s Renaissance Center.

The plaintiffs sufficiently detailed the allegations in the amended complaint to pass muster under federal pleading rules, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said Monday. Renaissance Center Management Co. and Allied Universal Security Services, which jointly operate Renaissance Center with GM and G4S, and 12 individuals—one of whom hasn’t defended the case and is in default—are also named as defendants. ...
