Bissell Hit With Suit Over Recording of Customer-Service Calls

Bissell Inc. recorded customer-service telephone calls without informing callers or obtaining their consent in violation of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, a proposed federal class action said.

Brie Baldwin, Rolanda Fields, Samuel Gemette, and three others alleged that Bissell, a maker of vacuum cleaners and floor-cleaning products, disclosed on its website that customer-service calls were recorded but didn’t offer the same disclosure during the calls.
