Biometric Gun Safe Maker Faces Insufficient Recall Relief Claims

The maker of recalled gun safes with biometric locks didn’t give customers a refund or widely publicize the announcement, a proposed class action alleged.

The “deficient” recall allows Xpedition LLC, which does business as Fortress Safe, and Cabela’s LLC, an outdoor activities retailer, to “say they are doing the right thing, when in fact the primary objective is to protect their bottom line,” the complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said.

Fortress Safe and Cabela’s didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
