A federal jury returned a verdict in favor of consumers who said R.C. Bigelow Inc. misled buyers into thinking its tea products were made in the US.
The consumers were awarded more than $2.36 million in compensatory damages, but denied punitive damages, according to the verdict form filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The jury found Bigelow violated the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, committed common law fraud, and breached an express warranty.
