A Biden Administration debt relief plan that could cancel billions in student loans was temporarily halted Thursday by the Eighth Circuit.
The St. Louis, Missouri-based appeals court granted a request from a Republican-led coalition of states to stop the Education Department from administering the “SAVE” program while the court considers the states’ ask to strike the program as unconstitutional.
The US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit decision halting the program came in a one-page unsigned order.
