An anti-affirmative action group has agreed to dismiss its suit challenging an Illinois scholarship program after the state passed a law eliminating the program’s race-based qualifications.
The American Alliance for Equal Rights, a Texas-based group, filed a stipulation for dismissal Monday, citing the revised law.
The alliance’s suit claimed the Minority Teachers of Illinois scholarship program discriminated against non-minority applicants.
