Suit Revived Over Finance Personality Ramsey’s Covid Safety Bias

Christian personal finance personality Dave Ramsey and his company must face an employee’s claims that he was fired for not going along with their religious-based opposition to Covid-19 safety measures.

The ruling Tuesday by the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit involved the somewhat novel situation in which a worker sues based not on bias toward their own religion, but for discrimination for not adhering to their employer’s faith. The proper name for that type of claim is debated, but the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s “religious nonconformity” label seems most fitting, the Sixth Circuit said.
