Bezos, Amazon Defend Space Project Contracts With Blue Origin

A Delaware judge appeared skeptical Tuesday of claims that Amazon.com Inc.‘s board is enriching founder Jeff Bezos and his rocket company Blue Origin in a floundering satellite communications project.

Bezos and Amazon want the Delaware Chancery Court to dismiss a pension fund’s lawsuit challenging Project Kuiper’s reliance on Blue Origin instead of Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The litigation focuses on contracts Amazon’s board approved with Blue Origin and with United Launch Alliance, a joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin that’s supplied by Blue Origin. A contract also was signed with the French launch company Arianespace.
