Beyond Meat Agrees to $7.5 Million Deal to Settle Deception Suit

Beyond Meat Inc. and consumers agreed to a $7.5 million settlement to resolve claims the plant-based meat company overstated the amount of protein in its products.

The consumers said the non-reversionary fund would provide “immediate, certain, and substantial” relief through partial refunds to customers, according to their motion for preliminary settlement approval filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Attorneys for the consumers will seek $2.5 million in fees and costs, or one-third of the settlement, the motion said.
