The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission sued
Berry Global allegedly regarded Jasmine Locke as disabled and fired her in March 2022 due to absences related to her depression, despite her ability to perform her job, according to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. The EEOC says Berry Global did this in violation of the American with Disabilities Act, which prohibits employers from discriminating against employees based on disability.
