Isabella Hadid, a 26-year-old American supermodel, was accused of infringing Chosen Figure LLC’s copyright by posting a photo of herself on Instagram, a federal lawsuit said.
Chosen Figure filed its complaint in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday, accusing Hadid of copying and displaying the photo without permission.
The complaint described Hadid’s account, followed by more than 59 million users, as “a part of a popular and lucrative commercial enterprise” which benefited from publishing the photo at issue. The image is of her wearing sunglasses, exiting an apartment door.
