Bell Textron Inc. reached an agreement with a Black employee to settle a lawsuit alleging workplace bias, retaliation, and hostile environment claims against the company, attorneys for both parties said in a joint mediation report filed on Wednesday.
James McWilson said in a lawsuit filed in October last year that he was fired shortly after reporting race-based harassment from a White coworker. McWilson said that he reported feeling discriminated against after his coworker Blake Murphy, who is White, made monkey noises and pounded his chest when McWilson walked by, an act that was allegedly part of a years-long harassment campaign. ...
