A factfinder must decide if the word “natural” is misleading, the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Tuesday, declining to dismiss the suit.
According to lead plaintiff Edison Corpuz, consumers think “natural” products don’t contain “non-natural, synthetic ingredients,” and the processing makes the product not natural.
The company said reasonable consumers wouldn’t expect “the bite-sized, chewy, obviously manufactured [OAD] product” to have been created solely by nature. ...
