Bayer Fungal Spray Contamination Suit Resolves for $4.85 Million

Consumers who said they overpaid for contaminated antifungal sprays from Bayer US LLC asked a federal court to approve a $4.85 million deal to end their class action.

The plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval was filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.

The consumers sued Bayer in 2021 after the company said certain lots of Lotrimin AF and Tinactin sprays contained benzene, a carcinogen. Multiple consumer product companies have faced lawsuits over benzene contamination in recent years.
