Bayer Senior Manager Sues Alleging Age, Disability, Sex Bias (1)

Bayer US LLC failed to accommodate a one-time associate director’s prostate cancer and fired him because of his disability, age, and sex, a lawsuit filed in New Jersey federal court says.

Jeffrey Higham alleges his inclusion in a 2024 layoff came less than one month after his placement on a performance improvement plan, when his job rating was downgraded without explanation. The lower rating and PIP followed his demotion to senior manager in May 2023, despite having been consistently rated as exceeding expectations and being tapped for an emerging leaders program, Higham says.
