Bay Area politician Bryan Azevedo has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud and one count of making false statements to federal agents.
The charging document, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, accuses the San Leandro councilman of taking bribes from two founders of an Oakland-based affordable housing company in exchange for steering city business to the company.
