BASF Gets Partial Win in Hudson River Cleanup Costs Case

BASF Corp. beat a bid for reimbursement of Hudson River cleanup costs by a research and manufacturing company, after a federal district court in New York found the request “superfluous.”

BASF is seeking to recover the costs of finding and treating contaminated Hudson River sediment near Rensselaer, N.Y., from multiple companies, including Albany Molecular Research Inc. The research company filed a counterclaim, seeking the same of BASF, which the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York denied in a Monday decision.
