Bard Hit With $255,000 Verdict in Second Hernia Mesh Test Trial

C.R. Bard Inc. and Davol Inc. must pay $250,000 to a Florida man who linked his harm to a Ventralex hernia patch, a federal jury in Ohio said in the second test trial over their hernia mesh products.

Each side now has a win.

Hernia mesh products are meant to aid with healing following abdominal hernia surgery. Plaintiffs have alleged that the polypropylene used in the mesh isn’t suitable for permanent implantation in the body and leads to a host of complications.
