Barclays Sued by Female Director Claiming Sex Bias, Retaliation

Barclays Bank Delaware has been hit with a new federal lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation in violation of Title VII and the Virginia Human Rights Act.

Aloma Holsten, a director at Barclays, claims Chief Operating Officer Christopher Trill discriminated against her because of her sex through aggressive and dismissive behavior starting in late 2022 after he became her supervisor. Holsten complained to human resources in May and December 2023 but the company failed to properly address the situation, the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, says.
