Barclays Avoids Suit in Pennsylvania Over Adobe Info Sharing

Barclays Bank Delaware escaped a proposed class action alleging the bank shared credit card holders’ personal information with Adobe Systems Inc. without their consent, in violation of both state and federal privacy laws.

Judge Gerald J. Pappert of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania dismissed the case Monday, finding that the bank didn’t have sufficient contacts with Pennsylvania to establish jurisdiction there.

Lead plaintiff Jeffrey Parker, a Pennsylvania resident, said Barclays incorporated tracking technology from Adobe on its website, allowing the tech company to collect information arising from consumers’ interactions there, including their personal financial information. ...
