Bank Customer Advances Barracuda Networks Data Breach Suit

Barracuda Networks Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it failed to protect the personal information of 34,000 customers of Wescom Central Credit Union that was compromised in an October 2023 data breach .

Plaintiff Priscilla Wall’s allegations of injury established that she had standing to sue in federal court, and her pleadings were sufficient to state claims of negligence and violations of California’s Unfair Competition Law, Judge Christina A. Snyder of the US District Court for the Central District of California said Monday.
